About Hanwoori Samulnori
Hanwoori Samulnori is a family music group that produces and performs traditional and contemporary Korean folklore music in Australia. Since 2014, Hanwoori Samulnori held street performances in Australia every 15th August to celebrate the Liberation Day of Korea with the general public and to show respect and gratitude to the Australian Veterans who fought in the War. Active in Sydney, the team performs for council-organised and community-level events such as Australia Day, Lunar New Year, Korea Day festivals and also performs for schools and nursing homes to bring traditional Korean music and culture a step closer to people in Australia.

This hand gesture symbolises the meeting of 'Liberation' (left) and 'Light' (right). The 'Liberation' stand for countries that have been liberated or are seeking to liberate. The concept of 'Light' is derived from the word, Gwangbokjeol - the Liberation Day of Korea, meaning 'The Restoration of Light Day.'

Team Harang and choreographers will showcase their new works inspired by Korean traditional/contemporary music and collaborate with Hanwoori Samulnori at the event.
Soyoon Jung
Designer, Jasmine Hanbok (Sydney)
This event will premiere Korean flag inspired Hanbok (Traditional Korean Clothing) designed by Soyoon.
Soyoon's beautiful Hanbok was presented at FOMA (Fashions of Multicultural Australia) in 2021.
